After eight years at the helm, Merv Shetler said goodbye to Bluebills at the January 2010 meeting of the Central Leadership Council. Under his four terms of energetic leadership, Bluebills improved the visibility and status of our organization within our communities. We will all miss his down to earth style, resourcefulness, wit, thoughtful strategic planning and his ability to network, always advocating for Bluebills. It has been our pleasure to work with him. The short appreciation ceremony, a surprise, included the special honor of a framed Boeing Bluebill painting presented by Bob Lambert (shown at the left).

At the meeting, Merv displayed his self- deprecating humor once again – the meeting ran so long, the election of new officers had to be put off until the February meeting. The agenda was packed full of informative speakers and reports. “If I had been a better manager, we’d have completed all our business,” he observed. Then it was time for cake and handshakes and fond promises to stay in the loop. |
