After eight years at the helm, Merv Shetler said goodbye to Bluebills at the January 2010 meeting of the Central Leadership Council.  Under his four terms of energetic leadership, Bluebills improved the visibility and status of our organization within our communities.  We will all miss his down to earth style, resourcefulness, wit, thoughtful strategic planning and his ability to network, always advocating for Bluebills.  It has been our pleasure to work with him.

The short appreciation ceremony, a surprise, included the special honor of a framed  Boeing Bluebill painting presented by Bob Lambert (shown at the left). 

Merv also received a certificate dedicated to his wife Marilyn, which read, “Behind every successful man there is a woman, as the old folklore states, and in the case of Merv, it is you.  The Bluebills appreciate Merv’s excellence as their chairman for eight years.  We know it took much of his creative time away from home.  It is clear you were always there to council, motivate, listen and to lessen his responsibilities demanded at home.  It was obvious that you two worked as a team.  We recognize your significant role in Merv’s success as the Bluebills chairman, and we thank you for all you have given to the Bluebills.”
